Tegoroczna gala rozdania amerykańskich nagród muzycznych Billboard Music Awards odbyła się tradycyjnie w MGM Grand Garden Arena w Las Vegas. Wydarzenie transmitowane było na żywo w telewizji ABC 18 maja.

Najwięcej nominacji w tym roku – po dwanaście – otrzymała Lorde i zespół Image Dragons. Justin Timberlake okazał się być największym wygranym tegorocznej gali zdobywając aż siedem statuetek w kategoriach: Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top R&B Atrist oraz Top R&B Album.

Laureatami w tym roku zostali także m.in.: Daft Punk, Miley Cyrus, Imagine Dragons, Justin Bieber, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, a także Robin Thicke. Specjalną statuetkę w kategorii Icon Award otrzymała Jennifer Lopez.
